The Salt Lake Tribune published an article this morning on the appearance of approximately 300 members of the Mormon community at the Salt Lake City Gay Pride Parade.
In support of members of the LGBT community the church members marched alongside other groups in the parade.
This was a great show of support for lgbt mormons in the short term. In the long term this may be nothing more than a political stunt since election season is right around the corner.
Nothing was mentioned in the parade by the group of over 300 about support of gay marriage and considering what type of event this is that to me was a huge oversight.
If we look at this participation objectively and say yes the Mormons are a supportive group this could be baby steps towards eventual endorsement on some level of the rights of LGBT Mormons to have relationships with their same sex partners and still be a part of the church if they do so.
