We are approaching the one year anniversary of the passage of Marriage Equality in New York State.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the bill into law on June 24th, 2011 ending years of struggle and enabling couples to legally marry in New York and share the same rights as heterosexual couples.
A recent wedding I attended solidified the importance of what all of us in the lgbt community have been fighting for. This post may be a bit early however I think speaking of Marriage Equality as we head into several months of pride festivals, the equality anniversary, and then election season is timely and important to recognize.
Will you marry this year or have you or someone you know done so already? What was your experience and how has marriage equality changed your life within the last year?
