National Suicide Prevention Week

September 4th-10th is National Suicide Prevention Week. Each year this week is dedicated to awareness of resources and prevention efforts surrounding suicide.
This year National Suicide Prevention Week comes on the heels of the release of results from a large study from the CDC.
This study indicated that nearly 50% of Americans will suffer from some form of mental illness during their lifetime.
Mental health issues often go unnoticed and untreated and can end up leading some to attempt suicide.
Never let the lack of health insurance or fear of a parent/loved one finding out stop you from seeking help for mental health issues or suicidal feelings.
Talk to someone you trust and then seek out resources in your area.
The Trevor Project has a great variety of resources available.  Locally the Gay Alliance as well as 211 are other places to seek out therapists, help on bullying issues, as well as general mental health referrals.  Also don't forget to contact us here at Everybodysgood if you need a general mental health referral.

If you are in crisis please contact someone you trust or call 911 if you are feeling immediately suicidal.
