The Human Rights Campaign recently announced that the survey for the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) 2011 is now open.
The HEI measures US healthcare facilities in their fair treatment of LGBT patients, as well as employees. There are five main categories in which the HEI does this: patient non-discrimination, visitation, decision-making, cultural competence training, and employment policies and benefits.
The HEI survey for 2011 can now be completed online through December 31, 2010 and will be released in the Spring of 2011.
