Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE) recently announced the launch of a new, permanent resource for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) aging issues: the National Resource Center on LGBT Aging.
The National Resource Center on LGBT Aging was established this year (2010) with a federal grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services... and provides training, technical assistance, and educational resources to aging providers, LGBT organizations, as well as LGBT older adults.
This is the country's first and only technical assistance resource center aimed at improving the quality of services and supports offered to LGBT older adults. The Center is led by SAGE, in partnership with 10 leading organizations from around the country.
The services provided by the National Resource Center on LGBT Aging will help to ensure that older LGBT adults receive the necessary and culturally appropriate care that they deserve as they age.
