Action Alert: Urge Your Senators to Make DADT a Priority the Week of Sept. 20

Last Thursday, a federal district court declared the Military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy unconstitutional.

A step in the right direction, but the fight is far from over.

Congress returns to Washington, D.C. this coming week (September 20) and the full Senate will have the opportunity to repeal DADT when it votes on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), because there are provisions in NDAA that would allow for the repeal of DADT.

Here is where the action comes in: call your Senators and ask them to schedule a vote to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell. You can contact them at (202) 224-3121. If you don't know who your Senator is, give your zip code and you will be connected.

Whatever your stance on the military, please remember that any form of institutionalized discrimination plays an important role in perpetuating toxic attitudes, which only hurts us.

Please do your part to end discrimination on all levels. Call your Senators today!
