In this webinar, which is sponsored by the Lesbian and Gay Family Building Project, Consultant Fred Elia will familiarize participants with public and private agency processes to becoming a foster or adoptive parent in New York State, as well as how to best navigate those processes.
Participants will leave with an understanding of the criteria for selection and the individual steps associated with the certification process.
During the meeting there will also be time to discuss and explore the parenting possibilities within fostering and adopting, and participants can help to identify welcoming and affirming agencies.
It will be held Monday, July 19, 2010 from 12 - 1PM.
